Vancouver Shipyards
Vancouver Shipyards is the prime shipbuilding site for building the large complex non-combat vessels under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy program. The yard includes a major steel-forming facility, a large fabrication and assembly hall, and a paint facility where entire vessels are sheltered for preparation and painting.
Victoria Shipyards
Victoria Shipyards operates at the Esquimalt Graving Dock with access to 1,900 feet of deep-water wharfage and a 25-acre production site. It performs repair services for vessels up to 100,000 DWT.
Vancouver Drydock
Vancouver Drydock operates two floating drydocks with lifting capacities up to 36,000 tonnes. The yard provides a full range of quality repair services and understands the importance of delivering vessels on time and on budget.
Chief Executive Officer
John McCarthy
John McCarthy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Seaspan Shipyards, brings more than 36 years of extensive experience in surface combatant and offshore vessel construction for American and International shipyards. Prior to this role Mr. McCarthy served as Chief Program Officer for Seaspan Shipyards since 2018. Mr. McCarthy has played a critical role in leading construction programs at Seaspan as part of the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
