Derek Ollmann, Chief Executive Officer – Transportation, the Washington Companies, effective January 1, 2025, began his transportation career in 1999 and most recently served as President of Seaspan Marine Transportation. Prior to that, Derek served as President of Montana Rail Link and President of Southern Railway, where he first joined The Washington Companies. Over his 25 years in the transportation industry, Derek has held progressively senior roles overseeing all aspects of marketing and sales, operations, maintenance and engineering. Over his lengthy career, Mr. Ollmann helped Washington Companies vastly and efficiently expand their North American railway network.

Mr. Ollmann obtained his Certificate of Management from Simon Fraser University and his MBA from Royal Roads University. He is a member of the operations, regulatory and safety committee of The Railway Association of Canada.
